I was born and raised in Southern California where I developed a love for the ocean. I am a childhood cancer survivor who was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia at age 13. I gained early experience in the medical system where I was forced to learn how to advocate for myself. I received a Bachelor's degree from California State University Northridge in child psychology (magna cum laude) in 1992. I moved to Upstate New York in 93’ with my husband who was born and raised in Fairport, NY. I, then, earned a degree in Radiation Therapy from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 1996 (magna cum laude). I am a licensed and registered radiation therapist, working exclusively in oncology since 1996. But, I'm now focusing solely on advocating. I am currently a member of ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) and APHA (Alliance of Professional Health Advocates). With my strong passion for helping others, I have raised over $16,000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I love to spend my free time with my husband, two children, and two Bernese Mountain Dogs. I also love the gym and traveling. I have been advocating for friends and family since adolescence and am prepared to guide you through your journey!
Our healthcare system is in crisis. Medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the U.S. Health care has become so dollar driven that the patient often gets lost in the mix. Everyone I know has a horror story about an experience or a loved one's experience with their patient care. I do not work for the hospitals, insurance companies, or pharmaceutical companies. By working as a private advocate, my allegiance is to YOU! I chose to become a private patient advocate because I have always had a passion for putting patients first. I have the unusual privilege of giving patients 110%.
